This week long course aims to cover how to perform a metabolic profiling experiment, from start to finish. It will cover study design, sample preparation, the use of mass spectrometry for global profiling and targeted methodologies and data analysis.
The course aims to:
- To establish a LC-MS-based metabolic phenotyping laboratory
- To be able to competently operate LC-MS to acquire metabolic profiles of biological samples through hands-on experience
- To gain experience of untargeted and targeted LC-MS methodology, and development of these
- To design and conduct a metabolic profiling project using LC-MS
- Basic processing of LC-MS data, with some univariate and multivariate statistics.
