
Workshop on Metabolic Phenotyping in Clinical Practice
Universitat de Barcelona, Hospital Clinic, IDIBAPS and PhenoMeNal consortium announcing the 1st Workshop on Metabolic Phenotyping in Clinical Practice on Friday 27th May 2016 in Barcelona, Spain. The purpose of this workshop is to define the state-of-the-art of Metabolic Phenotyping in the clinics. We plan to discuss with experts in the fields of biomedicine, government, ethics, and information technology how we can move forward with technically sound ethical and law-abiding approaches to distribution and analysis of patient data. A full day workshop with lightning talks and discussions led by experts in the field: Heidi Howard, Hutan Ashrafian, Per-Johan Jakobsson, Matej Oresic, Ulrich Guenther, Thomas Hengst, Dipak Kalra, and Rima Kaddurah-Daouk, we explore the clinical metabolomics application scenarios, privacy and ethics in research data and the future prospects of metabolomics in clinical practice.
