The Metabomeeting is a conference organised by the MPF every couple of years since 2003, usually within the UK but sometimes collaborating with another metabolomics body overseas, such as in 2020 when, in conjunction with the Réseau Français de Métabolomique et Fluxomique, the European RFMF Metabomeeting was held in Toulouse, France, with the motto “good food, good science.”

Plenary and keynote speakers are invited from the most prodigious researchers in the field and from the whole breadth of metabolomics applications. The MPF places a big emphasis on encouraging and showcasing early career researchers and so many ECRs are given opportunities to speak and the poster session is a popular part of the Metabomeeting, with prizes on offer. The real highlight is the chance to network with metabolomics professionals and students at all stages of the career journey and let our hair down at the conference dinner, which usually involves great food and great music.
