SUMMARY:EMN Webinar Series
DESCRIPTION:The Early-career Members Network (EMN) invites you to the Webinar series featuring: \nBiomarkers discovery in metabolomics: from research to clinical translation \nSpeaker: Prof. Nicholas J W Rattray (University of Strathclyde\, Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences)\nPatricia Kelly (University of Strathclyde\, Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences) \nBiomarkers of disease have long captivated the imagination of scientists and clinicians alike. From the ancient physicians who discovered the diagnostic value of elevated glucose in urine to the modern-day researchers harnessing the power of multiomics molecular profiling\, disease diagnosis has long been a cornerstone of clinical care pathways. \nThe gut metabolome reflects intrinsic biochemical processes\, environmental challenges\, and complex interactions within the host. Using an optimised stool extraction methodology for LC-MS\, we characterised the faecal metabolome of children with coeliac disease (CoD) and explored the effect of treatment with a gluten free diet (GFD). \nClick here to learn more about this latest webinar by Prof. Nicholas J W Rattray and Patricia Kelly.
