SUMMARY:2026 Prague Metabolism and Signaling Symposium
DESCRIPTION:There has been an explosion of research into the metabolic changes that underlie varied physiological and diseased states and the signaling pathways that control metabolism in response to metabolites. This meeting will bring together experts at the intersection of metabolism and signal transduction to discuss their latest work. Themes to be covered include energy and metabolite sensing; organellar signaling; autophagy; the aging process; cancer\, immune\, and stem cell metabolism; and metabolism in host-pathogen interactions. Confirmed speakers study metabolism from diverse perspectives\, so presentations will cover a broad range of approaches and topics\, from work in humans to structural biology. The symposium will have about 30 speakers and include two Keynote presentations\, one with a focus more on metabolism and the other on signaling. There will be plenty of time for networking and excursions in the beautiful city of Prague. \nView the website: https://praguemetabolismsymposium.com

SUMMARY:The 1st Congress of Instrumental Analysis (CAI2026)
DESCRIPTION:The 1st Congress of Instrumental Analysis (CAI2026) is the result of a collaboration between Spanish scientific societies to create a forum for discussion on the fundamental and applied aspects of chemical analysis. The organizing committee for this event includes the Spanish Society of Applied Spectroscopy (SEA)\, the Spanish Society of Chromatography and Related Techniques (SECyTA)\, the Spanish Society of Mass Spectrometry (SEEM)\, the Spanish Society of Metabolomics (SESMet)\, and the Spanish Society of Analytical Chemistry (SEQA). \nThis first meeting will integrate cutting-edge methodologies in spectroscopy\, mass spectrometry\, chromatography\, and other related separation techniques\, as well as electrochemistry. The congress aims to present both the latest advances in instrumentation and their applications in metabolomics\, biomedicine\, the environment\, food science\, and other areas of interest. \nThe congress aims to create a multidisciplinary forum designed to stimulate scientific exchange\, foster synergies between communities\, and promote the transfer of knowledge towards new analytical challenges. \nEvent website: https://cai2026.es/

SUMMARY:São Paulo School of Advanced Science (SPSAS) on FoodOmics
DESCRIPTION:The São Paulo School of Advanced Science (SPSAS) on FoodOmics (https://espca.fea.unicamp.br/) will be held on September 13-26\, 2026\, at the School of Food Engineering of the State University of Campinas (FEA-UNICAMP) in São Paulo state\, Brazil. \nAdvances in omics sciences in areas related to food and nutrition have made it increasingly possible to understand the complexity at each layer of biological systems and at each stage of food systems\, from cultivation to consumption – hence the term FoodOmics\, which was established to designate the emerging interdisciplinary field that uses omics technologies to holistically understand food and nutrition\, focusing on production\, safety\, and\, above all\, the benefits associated with food consumption. Thus\, SPSAS on FoodOmics aims to promote discussion and deepen scientific and technological knowledge\, advancing understanding of the potential of omics technologies in food science\, food engineering\, food technology\, and nutrition. \nThe ten-day School’s schedule combines theoretical and practical activities\, including keynote lectures\, poster sessions\, advanced hands-on workshops\, and discussion panels\, all focused on foodomics and its applications. The program includes interactive sessions where participants present their research\, technical visits to UNICAMP laboratories\, and cultural activities. \nThe discussions at the School will benefit greatly from the participation of internationally renowned researchers as keynote speakers\, such as Prof. Dr. Alejandro Cifuentes (Instituto de Investigación en Ciencias de la Alimentación – Spain)\, author of the term FoodOmics; Prof. Dr. Jianguo Xia (McGill University – Canada)\, who developed the Metaboanalyst Platform (https://www.metaboanalyst.ca/); Prof. Dr. Mónica Cala Molina (Universidad de Los Andes – Colombia)\, head of the Latin-American Society of Metabolic Profile; Prof. Dr. Hector Henrique Ferreira Koolen (Amazonas State University – Brazil)\, coordinator for the Legal Amazon Metabolomics Network. \nSPSAS on FoodOmics expects to receive 100 students\, including undergraduate and graduate students\, and early-career researchers (post-doctorates). The selection will be carried out by the Scientific Committee and will prioritize the formation of a diverse audience in terms of race\, gender\, nationality\, and place of origin\, estimating that 25 participants will be Brazilians located in the state of São Paulo\, 25 will be Brazilians located in other Brazilian states\, and 50 will be foreigners. Participants who do not reside in Campinas will have the costs of round-trip (air or ground travel)\, meals\, accommodation\, travel insurance (only for foreign participants)\, and transportation between designated locations during the school’s activities fully covered by SPSAS on FoodOmics\, with funding from The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).
