SUMMARY:São Paulo School of Advanced Science (SPSAS) on FoodOmics
DESCRIPTION:The São Paulo School of Advanced Science (SPSAS) on FoodOmics (https://espca.fea.unicamp.br/) will be held on September 13-26\, 2026\, at the School of Food Engineering of the State University of Campinas (FEA-UNICAMP) in São Paulo state\, Brazil. \nAdvances in omics sciences in areas related to food and nutrition have made it increasingly possible to understand the complexity at each layer of biological systems and at each stage of food systems\, from cultivation to consumption – hence the term FoodOmics\, which was established to designate the emerging interdisciplinary field that uses omics technologies to holistically understand food and nutrition\, focusing on production\, safety\, and\, above all\, the benefits associated with food consumption. Thus\, SPSAS on FoodOmics aims to promote discussion and deepen scientific and technological knowledge\, advancing understanding of the potential of omics technologies in food science\, food engineering\, food technology\, and nutrition. \nThe ten-day School’s schedule combines theoretical and practical activities\, including keynote lectures\, poster sessions\, advanced hands-on workshops\, and discussion panels\, all focused on foodomics and its applications. The program includes interactive sessions where participants present their research\, technical visits to UNICAMP laboratories\, and cultural activities. \nThe discussions at the School will benefit greatly from the participation of internationally renowned researchers as keynote speakers\, such as Prof. Dr. Alejandro Cifuentes (Instituto de Investigación en Ciencias de la Alimentación – Spain)\, author of the term FoodOmics; Prof. Dr. Jianguo Xia (McGill University – Canada)\, who developed the Metaboanalyst Platform (https://www.metaboanalyst.ca/); Prof. Dr. Mónica Cala Molina (Universidad de Los Andes – Colombia)\, head of the Latin-American Society of Metabolic Profile; Prof. Dr. Hector Henrique Ferreira Koolen (Amazonas State University – Brazil)\, coordinator for the Legal Amazon Metabolomics Network. \nSPSAS on FoodOmics expects to receive 100 students\, including undergraduate and graduate students\, and early-career researchers (post-doctorates). The selection will be carried out by the Scientific Committee and will prioritize the formation of a diverse audience in terms of race\, gender\, nationality\, and place of origin\, estimating that 25 participants will be Brazilians located in the state of São Paulo\, 25 will be Brazilians located in other Brazilian states\, and 50 will be foreigners. Participants who do not reside in Campinas will have the costs of round-trip (air or ground travel)\, meals\, accommodation\, travel insurance (only for foreign participants)\, and transportation between designated locations during the school’s activities fully covered by SPSAS on FoodOmics\, with funding from The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).

SUMMARY:CMMC Symposium 2026 - Metabolic Control of Tissue Regeneration and Degeneration
DESCRIPTION:The CMMC Symposium 2026 will focus on the emerging role of metabolic programs and metabolites as key regulators of tissue regeneration and degeneration. Beyond providing energy and cellular building blocks\, metabolic pathways control fundamental processes such as cell proliferation\, differentiation\, reprogramming and immune responses. By linking mechanistic insights with clinical perspectives\, the symposium will address major challenges in molecular medicine and human disease. \nWe are particularly honored to welcome Elly Tanaka (IMBA\, Vienna\, AT)\, Axel Roers (University Hospital Heidelberg\, DE)\, and Gerald I Shulman (Yale School of Medicine\, US) as keynote speakers\, who have also played an active role as external scientific organizers in shaping the scientific program. \nEvent website: https://www.cmmc-uni-koeln.de/events/cmmc-symposium/cmmc-symposium-2026
