My doctoral research involved the application of analytical techniques (GC/MS, 1H NMR spectroscopy, FTIR & Raman spectroscopy) in combination with chemometric methods to identify damage and age in Agaricus bisporus. Since completing my PhD, I have been working as a postdoctoral researcher in the Institute of Food & Health, University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland. My main research interests lie in the application of metabolomic techniques to examine the relationship between nutrition and health. My current project involves identifying plasma biomarkers of subjects in the at risk mental state (ARMS) and conversion from ARMS to psychotic illness and investigating the effect diet has on psychotic outcome.
