I am presently involved in projects on plant single-cell type metabolomics at Department of Biology, University of Florida. We are interested in single-cell type (mesophyll, epidermal, suspension cells) metabolomic changes in Arabidopsis and canola in response to biotic and abiotic stress. Following untargeted UHPLC-QToF-MS, GC-MS and targeted HPLC-MRM-MS approaches we catalog and monitor global scale changes that provide insights into stress-responsive metabolomes in these systems.
With a background in genomics (rubber tree) and plant biotechnology (sandalwood) in various plant systems I look forward to utilizing the –omics based knowledge in holistic understanding of plant systems. In addition, by involving myself as an EMN member, I wish to spread the vision and mission of Metabolomics Society and EMN to the entire global metabolomics community, and diverse geographic locations such as India to disseminate the words!
